artist statement 
Dee Drenning, or HoopsieDee, is a multi-disciplinary artist based in St. Louis, MO. With her works existing in multiple mediums, they are often about the human expression, sexuailty, and humanity, while shedding light on the experiences of Black women, femmes, trans, and non-binary individuals, and sex workers. Using her best abilities, she creates safe containers for the viewer to reflect on and explore themselves, to question their humanity, and to spark interaction and connection with others.

Dee Drenning, also known as HoopsieDee, is a St. Louis based multidisciplinary artist and a woman of many trades. Venturing into the depth of different practices and processes from printmaking to painting and performance art, her cross-pollination style of merging methods is an integral part of her work, life, and traditions. With an allegiance to strengthening the local community FOR, BY, and WITH, Dee strives to expand horizons and find new expressions of the human experience.
