artist statement 
In my art, I like to explore themes of character design and form based off of everyday things. There are many things in life that we don't even give a second glance, and I want to take a look at them through the filter of design. Doing this, I can focus on color, themes, and form. 

My current collection is looking at common fruits and creating a character to represent that fruit. I like to take into account various facts, like taste, appearance, and use, and then designing a human being with those themes in mind. While items and foods are simple things, human beings are complex. We tend to look at people and try to understand them on appearance alone. Through art and design, I want to create a character that fits with it's inspiration.

Paige Lansford is a digital artist from the small town of Union Missouri. She is currently a student at the University of Missouri, St. Louis, and is currently completing her senior year. She is scheduled to graduate in the Spring, May 2021.
